so i was actually planning on staying home the whole night and relaxing... maybe working on my coursework, but a chance encounter with jamie n carole changed that. so i'll be going out later.

the rest of my crib
one evening, i hosted a small dinner at my place for my friends.
they brought me these!
ok la, it wasnt exactly for me only. it was for all of us :D
sorry, forgot to take a pic till we had started =p
incase u forgot wad i looked like
incase anybody thinks i've gained weight, i have not!
(at least i think so!)
so far, i've only shown u guys my room when i moved in, but i havent shown the rest of my flat yet. so i'll take the opportunity to do so now.
this is the hallway that greets u when u unlock the door to my flat.
see the little gap in the wall on the right? that leads to more rooms and the kitchen.
the door furthest right is the kitchen door.
its a swinging door and always automatically swings shut whenever we open it.
its to prevent the smoke from our cooking to reach the fire alarms outside the kitchen and triggering it.
what u see when u enter the kitchen.
(person optional)
at the very left, u can see the edge of our fridge.
this is the sink, counters and stove.
these are our shelves. there are 6 rooms, so each girl gets one hanging one and one counter shelf.
on the counter u can see a microwave, rice cookers, kettle, mini grill and a toaster.
the microwave, toaster and kettle are provided. the rest belong to other ppl. i dont have a rice cooker, so i boil my rice in my saucepan =p
under the counter in between the sink and the stove are the freezer and fridge.
the one on the left is the freezer, the one on the right is the fridge.
this is our bigger fridge.
top shelf is mine!

snow!
i was sitting in my room when i heard my hsemate while walking past my door, casually mention to somebody that it was snowing. i immediately looked out my window. she was absolutely right!!! it was SNOWING!
in OCTOBER! i thought i'd have to wait till dec to see snow, but its snowing already!!! *does 20 handstands and 50 cartwheels*
the ppl here are so used to snow, that my hsemate was just mentioning nonchalantly, but for a sakai like me, its the 1st time i've seen snow!!! whee~~~
then i called caroline and squealed to her and ran to the kitchen to check on my food that was on the stove. then when i got back, i tried calling jeannie n min yuen, but apparently caroline n wei yee were faster than me and had called them already. how dare they steal my wind! wtf (they even called ainun already. walau!)
oh, a thought just occured to me! if its snowing so early, that means that by the time dec rolls around, the snow will be very thick! it might be so thick that they will have to cancel classes! 0.o
gosh, thats something i only read about before and never experienced! so cool! *super jakun*
no wonder it was so freaking cold when i walked back just now. summore it was drizzling quite alot. how was i to know that it was the prelude to snow! note to self: must bring umbrella with me nxt time.
im feeling all warm and fuzzy already :D
speaking of warm and fuzzy, im not cold at all inside my room! and just now, when i went out to "experience" the snow, all i wore was my thermal underwear (which i was wearing as pjs) and a bath robe (coz my themal underwear is white and quite transparent. wtf) and i wasnt even cold! i must have looked like a white ninja of the grey (my bathrobe was grey) clan. wtf. lol!
i just realised i was contradicting myself, 1st saying that i was freezing then saying that it isnt that cold. i think i was freezing just now when i was walking back coz it was raining and when ure wet, ure naturally much much colder when the wind blows. whoa, amy's so smart. *waves regally* wtf
but the snow now isnt of very good quality though coz it melts b4 it reaches the ground. i can only see it as snow from my room on the 3rd floor. but by the time it reaches ground floor its water :(
i took pics, but my phone is charging now, so i'll upload it nxt time. and the pics are of extremely lousy quality ayway. cant even see the individual biji of snows, oh wait, the proper name is snowflakes. as i was saying, u cant even see the individual snowflakes, all u can see in my pics are streaks of movements which is the snow falling -_-"
thats all for now, im craving ice cream! gonna have some good ol' ben & jerry's now! yum!

foodie pics
i have lotsa pics from my phone that i havent uploaded yet, so i categorized them. this category is food!
baked potato with cheese and butter.
yummm~~
here's how i did it:
pre-heat the oven to 200degrees celcius (i dunno where the degree symbol is -_-")
wash the potatoes (choose big ones). prick all over with a fork (this is to release the moisture so it doesnt become soggy and to prevent potential bursting). rub oil and salt all over.
wrap in foil and pop it into the oven for 1hr. then take it out and cut a cross shape. press the sides of the potato to open it and put in loads of butter and cheese. yum! (it'll be nicer if u had grated cheese, but its expensive and sliced cheese is still cheese anyway =p)
minted lamb meatballs!
how i made this:
(nb: i keep saying "how i made this" because its how I made it. it may be technically wrong and stuff, but im just telling u the way i did it.)
beat an egg and mix it into defrosted minced lamb meat. add mint sauce (i forgot how much i added, but just agak la according to how much u like mint sauce).
boil water in a saucepan (just enough to cover all the meatballs when u put them in. u dun want too much water coz it'll go to waste in the end and it'll dilute the meatballs taste.) and when its boiling, form balls with the meat and slide them into the boiling water. note that the water muz be boiling, or else ur meatballs will disintegrate very ugly-ly.
then when the meatballs are cooked, add mint sauce to the soup and voila!
(but the distinctive lamb tastes kinda fades. i dunno how to preserve it. BUT on the bright side, this is great for those who find the lamb taste over-powering. wtf)

"a heart of lettuce" sounds familiar... or should it be "a leaf of lettuce"? but thats just one leaf right??? haih, nvm, u get the point) of lettuce, a big carrot, loads of cherry tomatoes and a whole apple. topped with balsalmic vinegar and some red wine vinegar.
*sigh* im so healthy! *proud*
(but after that still cant relli feel full, so i ate a kit kat. wtf)

i think these cookies are supposed to be famous too. kinda like millies cookies. but i still think millie's is the BEST! =p

but i like the illustration on the paper bag! it reminds me of roald dahl books! hehe~

pot luck @ paul kent
the calm before the storm (im being cryptic here. interpret this any way u like =p)
note: date of pot luck 11/10/08 (im wayyy behind on my pictures!)
i rarely dress up in UK. so since we were having a potluck party and it was gonna be the 1st time all us KDU-ians had a gathering (classes not counted and many dont go anyway -_-"), it was as good an occasion as any to dress up :D
so since i so rarely dress up, i was in the mood to camwhore! (ok la, i can hear all u snickers back there thinking "when is amy ever not in the mood to camwhore" *glare* i have not been camwhoring for a very long time ok!)
AHEM *clears throat* Anyways, on to thelovely pictures of lovely me!
i bought that hanging thing behind me on the right. its super useful since i wear my clothes at least twice before washing =p
see, no glasses!
