major ranting

i hate reading newspapers.

not because i hate reading, but because of all the nonsense and atrocities that they contain. the legislative, executive and judiciary organs here are all so screwed up!

did u know that there are no sexual harassment laws in malaysia? this issue has been around for decades, maybe even centuries. and the legislative still hasnt passed any laws on this issue. is sexual harassment not an important issue to them???

and as for the executive, we all know that police officers and government officers live on bribes. its disgusting. we entrust our lives into the hands of ppl who wont bother about us unless we bribe them. nevermind that we already pay taxes! and its come to a point where ppl dont even bother to make police reports anymore because the police will say patronizing and utterly ridiculous things ie. its the victims own fault.

if the victim of a theft left their wallet lying around in a public place with no one looking over it, yes, i agree that it may well be the victim's own fault. but to tell a victim of sexual abuse, molestation or even rape, that it's their own fault for what happened to them, this is utterly unacceptable! what kind of uneducated fool would say something like that??? the victim's feelings aside, dont they know that it is NEVER a female's fault for sexual attacks?

even if a female were to dress provocatively or even be a complete nudist, it does not give a right for others to sexually prey on her. how can people advocate freedom of speech, freedom of religion, fredom of bla bla bla... then turn around and say: nope, women you dont get any freedom regarding your own body. and what i hate most is females turning on females! i hate it when a females says something like "its her own fault she got raped, look at the way she dresses and flirts." seriously, WTF! hellooooo.... how stupid can u get??? it could have been YOU in that situation. one of the biggest blocks in feminism has to be women. *sigh*

and the judiciary! just look at the lingam case. 'nuf said.

awareness... maybe if i didnt study law, i wouldnt be quite so aware. i would be content to live my life and let the government operate in any way it pleases, as long as it didnt affect my enjoyment of life. but as it is, im painfully aware.

sometimes, ignorance really is bliss.

I like the last paragraph because thats how i'd put it too. Perfect way to describe it according to my own principle. Even I haven't thought about saying this before :)

But then how does one explain when a person dress up in a conservative way and still get raped?

That dress up and flirty shit is not an excuse!
