one if the highlights of my trip was definitely the venetian!
having read about it in so many famous blogger's blogs, it was kinda surreal to be there.
they all made it sound like its wasnt just the venetian, it was THE venetian. geddit? lol~
i mean hello, its the second largest building in the world! and it houses the largest casino in the world! (ok la, im actually not that smart and googled the venetian for trivia =p)
so in case u forgot, this post is a continuation from the "last day" post :)

the tour guide dropped us off at the hotel lobby instead of the front entrance coz chump was underaged.
walking in, we were greeted by gold.
gold is definitely the venetian's colour theme.
the pussycats!
unfortunately we were there several weeks to early to catch the concert :(
every corner of the hotel was embellished with as much deco as possible.
i found it quite an overload and at times even rather gaudy.
BUT nevertheless, the place was mostly beautiful :)
from far, these really resemble candles!
all the tourists took pics with the xmas tree.
as a sakai tourist, i too must take a pic with the xmas tree!
in the pic above, i was motioning my bro to stand at another angle.
from the other angle =p
there are even chandeliers in the lift!
a lift with mirrors... me like!
in order to get to the shops, we had to go up the lift and across a narrow corridor.
the aforementioned narrow corridor
the sight that greeted us as we emerged was... *speechless* surreal.
it was like stepping into a different era in a different country -a country in which nighttime did not exist!
gondola
the canal was much nicer than the one in genting.
the boatmen (and boatwomen) even sang (loudly!) as they rowed!
and although i didnt comprehend a word of the language they were singing in, it was still very nice =p
on the bridge
in contrast to the hotel, i found the laid back feel of the shops much more welcoming.
i wonder how long and how many ppl it took to paint the ceiling!
some parts werent completed yet...
eternal sunshine of the spotless mind =p
some of the painters will kinda cute tho...
so i couldnt resist lending a helping hand ;)
a canal separated the rows of shops...
the traveling musicians!
i didnt ask if i could take a picture with him, he saw my cam and actually volunteered himself! LOL~
elaborately dressed characters in a gondola
jester!
they had performances intermittently throughout the day.
the only picture i took of the casino, coz like i mentioned before, we're not allowed to take pics of the casino.
i think this shot was taken during one of chumps attempts to enter the casino. he failed of course. cmon la, for all his height, he's still only in f3 this year -_-''
in the course of our wandering, we stumbled across the food court
very zen...
the chocolate shop was right opposite the food court.
food vs chocolate... which would u pick? ;)
candid... i was watching one of the performances.
mummy, santa & me!
guy on stilts
walking on, we came across some shops that werent open yet.
arriving soon... what for?
wonder what it sells.... :S
my, how creative! -_-''
umm... i dont think i need a notice to tell me that a closed door is closed!
a living statue!
this guy was so nice!
i took a pic with him but neglected to tip him and he STILL smiled and waved (in a robotic manner) to me as i left!
i dont envy his job tho, imagine a fidgety person like me standing as still as a statue for hours! not possible!
hmm... is this the same jester???
i was feeling unnaturally kiam siap (maybe it was because everything in there cost several arms and legs), so all that i bought the whole time we were there, was a few bakery items.
at least they were decently priced... although they didnt taste that great.
i love the plastic bag that they put my mum's newly purchased mag into!
it has the names of famous authors all over it!
the performers acting out another scene i think.
this masks is so pretty!
if i ever get invited to a masquerade ball, i hope my mask will look something like this!
the one on the left isnt quite so pretty, but if i havent got a choice, it'll do too! =p
so cool right??!
i forgot what the shop was called, but it was very m&m themed.
sometimes i feel that the clothes for kids are much nicer than that for adults :(
see that huge thing the guy on the right is holding?
its a camera and the round thing is the flash!
so that when u take a picture the flash will come out evenly -i think.
if im not mistaken, they were shooting a commercial :D
an interesting way to collect donations!
well, this is me donating!
a slight "plop" as it enters the water, on the upper middle part of the pic
making another
there u go!
one of the performer's and my grannie's fren.
i noticed that they employed westerners mostly. maybe it was to enhance the venetian feel. if that was their intent, they did rather succeed. coz i didnt feel like i was in macao at all!
this guy was kinda hot...
his voice aint too shabby either *wink*
i liked this guy better tho... he gave out a really friendly and goofy vibe =p
i wonder if this refers to a brand or a real stage for performances...
anyways, thats all the pics i took at the venetian!
and off we were to the airport!
i can soooo imagine hiro nakamura saying this!
LOL~
definition of poppycock: nonsense / rubbish
this is the original rubbish! =p
on the plane with grannie!
end! *breathes huge sigh of relief*

There's a no Signboard Seafood at Oasis in Singapore!! ;) Just thought I'd let you know.... What's good to look for at Venetian? I'm going there soon... :P
good question... i cant say anything particularly stood out... everything was equally novel to me!
but i would advice u to wear good walking shoes coz the place is huge! i wore boots and my feet were killing me!
and u should definitely check out the casino ;)
just dont spend all your time in there, there are plenty of other things to see!!! and do bring ur camera! =p
just a little warning, all the shops there are majorly branded and overpriced, so if u wanna do any shopping, u better be loaded!
that said, i look forward to your posts on your trip!
