to reply your question, yes there is discrimination in the UK. its just that i dont really pay them any mind.
generally, i find most of the people here to be very kind and courteous. for example, most people thank the bus driver everytime they leave the bus. i doubt that the malaysian bus drivers ever get any thanks.
as for discrimination, usually im not sure if they are being racist or that they are just plain rude -_-"
but i shall tell u of the worst case of racism that i met so far.
i was over at my friends hall of residence for a pot luck party. we were all asians. while waiting for the guys to cook, some of us (ok la, mainly me =p) felt like camwhoring, so we went downstairs to camwhore. when this happened, there was only a small group of us (about 6 of us) around. i saw the bicycle shed and thought it would be a good place to camwhore. so 2 of us walked there. when we reached, we heard someone yelling at us. so we turned around. it was a girl in the block opposite the shed. she was yelling "what are you doing?!" i didnt reply because i was confused. part of me wanted to tell her exactly what we were doing and another part of me wanted to tell her that it was none of her beeswax. so my friend answered that we were taking pictures. then girl started yelling about "f**King asian society". so feeling exceedingly potong steam-ed, we didnt camwhore anymore.
it was utterly none of her business what we were doing. the bicycle shed was a public area and for all she knew, we had locked our bikes there. so she had no reason to yell at us except for the reason being that she was racist. and if she thought we wanted to steal bikes, hah! fat chance! both me and my fren were small sized (as compared to them) and the bikes were all locked to the metal bars.
actually this case of discrimination isnt that bad. just that its the worst i encountered so far. but luckily for us, most of the english are polite and friendly :)

just now i wanted to cook jacket potatoes to finish up the potatoes i had in the fridge, so googled jacket potatoes. most sites were extremely helpful.but there was a site that made me LOL!
"To check if the potato is done, gently stab it with the skewer; if it feels soft, it's done; if it's hard, come back later. If it's mushy, throw the potato away and get your mother to cook them next time"
wtf. hahahahahahaha~~~.

Most British are ok people. It's only the minority of townies and some student who just got their freedom to live on their own.
