food trip!

(note: jo made scattered comments throughout dis entry)

jo woke me up at 8.30am today to go to melaka!
we met up with lawrence and joyce (both are jo's church frens) for breakfast and soon we were on our way to melaka.

btw, im not gonna use the "expand and collapse" button coz the html is in my laptop and im lazy to look thru the html of my archives using jo's laptop. =p but no worries coz i didnt take dat many pics. dun wanna freak jo's frens out mar. =p

being unused to the early hours (i usually sleep till the afternoon on weekends), i soon fell asleep in the car. =p

this was the 1st thing i saw when i opened my eyes.
i came all the way to melaka to find kuching(my hometown) there???
LOL~

however, from what my groggy eyes picked out, melaka did have quite a few shops with interesting names.

dis is for all those who love playing big-2 (a card game).
nah, carole, ur shop!
(jo: eyh? i didnt see this.. )

this is ma nenek's shop!
errr... for the dim-witted, "ma"= my
(jo: this amy arh, ppl cross road dy she still taking pics... sighz)

anyways, back to the reason we went to melaka... FOOD!!!

we werent too sure which shop was the famous one, but we saw soo many ppl in dis one, so dis shud be the famous one! haha~

we tried the famous rice ball chicken rice

the rice balls werent relli wad we expected, coz we expected the rice to be like normal, but it was so mushy. taste-wise, the rice balls were so-so, but the chicken was pretty good! tender n juicy, just the way i like it! :D

jo: i dropped one on the table :(

then we wandered around wondering where was jonker street -which happened to be right across the road, but we ended up making a huge round just to get there. -_-"

by then, we were soo tired, hot and sweaty, that we just wanted cendol!

after passing (and entering) several souvenir shops, we finally got to the cendol place.

it was soo very ancient and quaint!
dirty, but i like! coz it has a more authentic feeling. lol~

oh ya, jonker street reminds jo n i of carpenter street in kuching. =p

dis is joyce
i relli envy her complexion!

amy n jo
dis is us looking sticky and sweaty... :(
now u see why i didnt take many pics today =p
jo: aiyah i dont like taking pics lah..

none of the others wanted to mimic the patung, so i had to DIY :(

after walking through jonker street, we walked to a park nearby. judging from the amount of ppl there, i gathered that the place was another tourist (hey, dats us!) spot. however i have no idea wad dat place was called. -_-"

jo: joyce now and --> in 30 years

we must do tourist-y things ok!
eventho i dunno of wad significance the church behind is, i saw ppl taking photos so i copy. =p

they must take photo also!
jo: crap pic

u cud even take a photos with the snakes there
*cough*tourist trap*cough*

here are randoms shots taken when i was resting:

jo: i was perving on the guy in green shirt

having rested abit, we ventured down an alley which had stalls lined up on one side.

spot the joyce, the jo and the lawrence!

there were alot of beca(s) there
*cough*another tourist trap*cough*

having had enough of the heat, sweaty-ness and walking, we headed to civilisation mahkota parade.

the only thing particularly notable about the place was...

the toilet!
yes, dis is the toilet. i kid u not.
so freaking nice rite??? (is it not obvious dat i love the colour purple?)
jo: i rock at photography.. not

then at 5.30, we went to have satay celup.

its basically lok lok with satay sauce

they were concentrating soo much on their food dat they didnt even notice me snapping away!
jo: take this down.. now..

the sticks show how much i ate
jo: amy is a pig
amy: *glare*

then they all added their sticks to my pile...
jo: amy is a big fat pig
amy:-__-"

candid
jo: aduh i pig too

i love the colour of the walls!
jo: cheerios

one last odd thing dat i noticed about melaka...

can u tell wads odd about dis pic?

the shell station is spilt into two halves!
so wierd!
not just this shell station, the other shell stations in melaka were like this too!
if any of u readers are from melaka, could u pls explain the rationale behind this divorcing of the petrol station???
the esso stations were normal tho.

on the way home, we missed a turning decided to go to kajang for some real satay!

it was delicious! no pics tho, coz i forgot about my camera and only remembered after we had finished all the satay. -_-" but, dat goes to show how good the satay was. :D

after all dat food, we were finally satisfied and went home. the end. :D
