samsung i450

amy is oh-so-deliriously-gleeful!

Photobucket
this folks, is the phone i've been using ever since my phone got stolen last year.

its a very old model, extremely kuno. it doesnt even have a camera function!

Photobucket
and this baby here, is what i received today!
su-weeeeet!!!

Photobucket
although the white version would have been preferable...*hint hint* =p

Photobucket
charger, headset and data link cable

Photobucket
the samsung i450 looks soo much more delectable then my old phone.

*tosses old phone into bin*
oh wait, i only get this phone for a month then i have to return it. darn!
*retrieves old phone from the bin and flicks off an odd cabbage leaf*

Photobucket
i have a new free phone! *gloats*

ok fine, enough gloating. i think some explanation is due.

during the nuffnang pyjama party, i was being a hyper-extrovert and chatting to random ppl. one of which was a journalist. so she told me about this event and asked if i would be interested. naturally (free phone wor, who dont want!) i was intrigued, so she gave me her name card. one thing led to another, and now i have a free phone.

ofcourse, this doesnt come without strings attached. what i have to do, is to write a review on this phone. so u'll be reading about me familiarizing myself with the phone, my joys and gripes and also later on my unhappiness about having to part with a phone i've hopefully grown to love :D

PLUS, i'll be going around like an extremely jakun person, finding people that i can "show the phone to" which is basically just camwhoring with as many ppl as possible -with the phone ofcourse =p
yay, another excuse to camwhore! :D

i'd blog about what happened this afternoon in izzi when i got the phone, but i didnt bring my camera, so i just might blog about it after i've stolen pics from the other bloggers. however, that is rather unlikely because the event wont be so fresh in my head and i wont feel so semangat to talk about it anymore =p
suffice to say that i had a good time and met all the other 15 bloggers participating in this event, although i didnt get to speak to all of them, but the ones i spoke to were awesome. one guy was so nice, he even switched phones with me. but that may be because the model of the phone i got was the newer one with gps... hmm... i switched phones for the most bimbotic of all reaons... i thought his model looked prettier. HAHAHA~ mine was the i550.

ok la, enuf blabbering.
photos!

Photobucket

this is what u get when u slide the phone up:
Photobucket
keypad

but nothing special there, slide phones are pretty common these days...

HOWEVER...
this is what u get when u slide the phone down:

Photobucket
whoa!
music!

and the red curve can be used the same way as for an ipod!

ipod? what ipod? who needs an ipod, i have a i450 man! (ahem, this by no means equates that i will refuse any sponsorships of ipods. wtf)

Photobucket
and when i slide it back, the display will still be sideways!
errr... actually thats nothing special. its just me being an excited jakun =p

Photobucket
2.0 megapixel camera
the i550 has 3 megapixels :(

that'll teach me to make rash decisions! but its ok coz i still think this phone is cooler, esp the ipod-ish part =p

Photobucket
we got freebies too! thanks to all u ppl at samsung! *hugs*

Photobucket
a handphone torchlight (which is cool, but i doubt i'll use anytime soon), beyonce cd, a round guess-what-this-is and a pen

rmbr the "round guess-what-this-is"?
Photobucket
its a deck of cards!!!
so cool! *sakai*

Photobucket
oh and theres a hp tag too
to prevent mishaps from happening

Photobucket
and i like its colorfulness too :D

ok, i didnt intend to start rambling on about the phone's functions yet, but here's a little something i noticed.
Photobucket
see the row of tiny pics under "my folders"?
they enable the user to switch from sub-menu to sub-menu easily.

actually sub-menu is a name i invented myself coz i dunno what the real name for it is. when u click the icons on the main menu, u get another list of icons under the icon that u clicked right? so i call this sub-menu. :D

and i dunno if that function is very common or not coz my previous phones were all soo out-dated. but nevertheless, im just saying that i like the convenience :)

one more thing i'd like to mention, i've been a nokia user all this while, so im quite a nokia fan. i find other brands of phones generally less user friendly. it'll take some usage for me to get used to messaging and entering and exiting applications, but so far, i think im getting the hang of things :D
