maybe its because in coming here, a new chapter of my life started, everything was foreign and inexplicably new. so technically, it was the start of a new year for me.
but its oh-so-confusing when i am reminiscing about past events and think of them as of last year, then i go "hang on, that was this year!".
besides my muddled brain, i also blame the academic system they have here. instead of starting a new academic year when a new year starts, they start it in the middle of the year. this is all very confusing. for example, i started my law course last year in january. so now, i should be in my 2nd year right? wrong. im now nearly halfway done my third year. (but thats because having joined the january intake in malaysia, it meant that we had a few months less than the english students, and had to cram those months in, in time to take exams.)
at the risk of sounding incredibly ignorant -which i dont deny i am, i think it would be so much better if they started new academic years at the start of a new year. less complications that way :)
but dont listen to me. its just the ramblings of a girl in the middle of the night, on an overdose of european law.
btw, have i mentioned that i hate EU law? well, i do. and i already know im gonna hate administrative law next year.
i just wanna get this degree over with.
all this, just for one slip of paper. maybe it would have been cheaper if i just hired someone to get me a fake certificate. yea, definitely much cheaper. and wayyyyy less effort too.
ok, i have wasted enough time here. im gonna hit the books again. but dont be surprised if u see another entry here in another few hours. i think its nearly an established fact that people tend to blog more when they're supposed to be studying.
