laptop

before, i was just simply spending the money i earned on clothes and food.

but its going to change slightly now.
i have a goal.

i want to save up enough to buy a new laptop.

by my estimations, it should take about 3 months salary, but only if i work more than 20 hours a week. which is not much of a problem because i have already worked more than 30 hours since last wednesday.

sure its tiring and i do feel rather sick of work at times (especially when it means that i have to wake up at 11am in the morning. which i realize to some people, may not be early at all -_-" and closing shifts are a real killer. luckily the guys usually get that shift- a benefit of there being only 2 female workers =p), but at least im using my time constructively instead of straining my already spoilt eyes on my laptop 24/7.

i aim to buy a laptop that will cost circa 800pounds, including all the setup fees and etc (unlike in malaysia, when u buy a laptop here, u get only the laptop. the software and other stuff will require a further fee.).

im aware i wont be able to save the whole amount of my salary each month, so i'll try to set aside some money from each month starting this month. hopefully it wont take me longer than 3 months to attain this goal.

knowing myself, i will get sidetracked before long, and spend my money on frivolous stuff like internet shopping, so i resolve to have more will power!

actually right... i talk so much but i still dunno what kinda laptop i want. wtf
i only know that it must be light, preferably less than 2kg and in either white or pink.
about the specifications, i dont know much and its not like im some high tech person thats gonna use my laptop for high tech stuff, all i wanna do is to be able to watch my series, surf the net and complete assignments.

any suggestions?

what kind of assignment u talking about? big heavy file load?

Get the older version of Macbook that come in white, the new one is way cooler but in aluminium colour only.

If ur assigment is not that heavy, then get the Dell mini, should be fun and small to carry around.

I'm not sure the price in london...

by the way. what's ur favourite beer in london?

You know what you need your computer/laptop for, good.

Now you just have to look at what programs you use.

If none of them are "Windows only" or don't have a Mac alternative, get a Mac.

Not a fan of Macs, but I do acknowledge it's ease of use, and simplicity, not to forget the eye-candy that Mac's provide by default.

Everyone's getting a Mac, why be different? *snicker*

Though it may be pricey, I am quite sure you won't regret it.

I never really personally encounter this before, hope wont. Anyway going to get myself a dell laptop soon, just wondering if dell is a good buy? or acer? Currently I am using a toshiba ones. Been using before IBM, HP, Dell and Toshiba laptops for the past 6 years. But I guess Dell ones is ok with the cheap promotional price they are offering now.
