Maid of honour

and so... finally my post on this event is up. hehe~

*NOTE* everyone has been linked! but incase i missed anyone out, lemme know :)

to cut a long story short it goes something like this.
nuffnang and hong leong bank had a competition and the 50top scorers would win tickets for two to an exclusive 8-course dinner at the JW Marriot and later, watch the premier of "made of honour".

thanks to a certain talented and generous young man, i managed to win :D

eh, i eat until so big, this is the 1st time i tasted champagne ok! so let me be sakai abit =p

the 1st course


pineapple chutney with smoked duck, seared tiger prawn with tomato salsa enhanced with kerabu mangga

i didnt make that up! im copying it directly from the menu =p

i think this dish was ok except for the pai tee thing on the left. i didnt really like that.


shredded chicken and bamboo pith soup

this was good! very much like something a doting grandmother would boil for her family ;)


sauteed julienne of seafood with curried mushroom cream sauce served in yam ring

this was another winner. reading the menu, i didnt expect to enjoy this dish very much, after all im not such a big fan of yam, but damn, i wish they gave a much bigger portion of this!


steamed seabass with thai sauce accompanied with chinese steamed lotus leaf rice

some ppl loved this dish and some ppl hated it. i find it so-so. maybe because im not a fan of thai sauce.


roasted chicken parcel in pencil asparagus served with percik sauce

i think the exterior of the chicken parcel was too tough. having all dolled up, i dont appreciate wrestling with my dinner =p
but the middle was pretty tasty, so it kinda slightly redeemed the dish.


saffron risotto with buttered baby carrots

not good. a taste of this is enough. spoonful after spoonful is overdose. jelak!

chocolate moist cake with fruits coulis, tropical fresh fruits served with haagen-dazs

yummilicious! but u cant really trust me, im a dessert person. with dessert, im easy to please =p

speaking of suet, i was so shocked to see her there! i'd totally forgotten that she was back in malaysia. after reading her blog for so many years, finally seeing her in real life left me very tongue-tied :S

after dinner, all of us trooped to pavilion to watch the premier of "maid of honour". it was pretty cool coz we were dressed to the nines marching through the streets, with a band playing bagpipes leading the way ;)

thanks to buena vista columbia tristar for the movie.
i thoroughly enjoyed it :D
for those of you who havent watched it, go watch it now! u wont regret it unlike "prom night".
